David: Hagerstown Prisons

She's moving to Hagerstown? The only thing out there is a line of three prisons, all in a row. I went out there once to sell videoconferencing equipment. I went into the medium security prison there, met up with this old guy who was the guard, must've been in his 70's, real nice guy. We got checked out, ID'd and everything, then the old guy took us to the library, which was, I don't know, to meet the warden, who we were supposed to- to, you know, talk to. And we're just walking across the yard, and everyone's out there, everyone's looking at us, and there's lawnmowers on the side and everything, they could've made weapons out of anything. I mean anything. And we meet up with the warden and all, and we're walking back and- and most of them, a lot of them were gone. And I turned to the old guard and I said, well, what, how often are there fights? And he said everyday, there's usually fights everyday. And I asked him, I said, what if there had been a fight, while we were here, what then? And he pointed to this button on his chest and said that he could've pushed that and they would've been here in two minutes. And of course, I said, well, two minutes? That's- I mean, my arm could be on the other side of the yard by then! And he said oh no, I still have two minutes of fight in me.

And right near it was the maximum security prison. Whereas before- well, so we went in, and we were checked out, and we had to be let in and out of every section, with all these doors locked behind us, and even when we were in the room, the door was locked. And if we saw a prisoner, we had to close the door and hit this button because here, no prisoner was supposed to be out at all. So we didn't see anyone. And we were talking and they're telling me - there was one prisoner there, there on death row, and he wanted the needle, no the gas chamber - well, what he wanted, they didn't have, and they spent millions trying to get it for him, because it was what he asked for. And there was this woman, and they got married while he was in prison, they're in there for years, and then they have this thing all ready for him, and he changes his mind, he wants the other thing, and they say no, they already got it for him. And while I'm there, suddenly all the prisoners start yelling, like everyone in this thing. And we look out the window, and there, down outside, there's these two women, and they're standing there flashing them! Flashing the prisoners, putting on a show! Getting them all riled up! And the prisoners, they're going crazy, and then you see around the corner the- the- the guards coming over to chase them away, and they run and jump into their car and drive away. They - the one had on this red dress, red lace summer dress, and the other one just this little summer dress. And they just pull them up and get them all riled up, for fun, for attention.
